Careers Supporter Relationship Specialist

Opportunity International Australia is seeking an outgoing, personable, and passionate Supporter Relationship Specialist to help Opportunity end poverty one family and one community at a time. Preferably based in Sydney or Brisbane, this new role will focus on cultivating our mid-level supporter program, working within the Development team. The role is best suited to a strong relationship builder, listener, and storyteller with an overwhelming desire to do good in the world.

Working alongside the National Development Manager and State Managers, the Supporter Relationship Specialist will engage a large and diverse portfolio of 600 relationships across Australia, primarily by phone. Our goal in each relationship is to see someone fulfil their philanthropic passions through Opportunity, whether that is in their personal giving, advocacy, business, foundation, family, church, or Will.

About Opportunity International Australia

Opportunity International Australia provides small loans and financial services to families in need so they can grow their own businesses, earn sustainable incomes and lift themselves out of poverty with dignity. Opportunity also works to increase access to education and healthcare, while strengthening communities to reduce the risk of human trafficking and domestic violence.

Opportunity is part of the global Opportunity Network—a leading provider and pioneer of microfinance. Opportunity provides a hand up to millions of families in more than 20 countries around the world.

COVID-19 has affected us all; but is devastating vulnerable communities. Families living in poverty without savings, healthcare and a reliable income are most affected by a pandemic. Maintaining a reliable income to access food and healthcare continues to be challenging. For families living in poverty—many of whom already rely on intermittent work—this could mean months without a sole income source. Opportunity’s work is more important now than ever.
