AmplifiHER and support women living in poverty
The Karuna Collective is running their online leadership course for women, for the second time this year, with 100 per cent of profits going to Opportunity International Australia.
The AmplifiHER program is designed to help women step into their power and claim their potential. Starting on 27 August, and every Tuesday from 12.00-1.30pm for four weeks online, participants will realise their value, gifts and become their own cheerleader, whilst networking with other like-minded women.
The Karuna Collective Founder and CEO Peta Taylor, first heard about the work of Opportunity helping women with small loans when she worked at SilverChef, a long-term corporate partner of Opportunity.
The work of Opportunity resonated strongly with Peta, empowering women in their own businesses.
“I believe in using business as a force for good and Opportunity’s focus on providing microloans to empower women experiencing poverty globally resonates with my vision of creating sustainable change and fostering economic independence so that every woman has the opportunity to thrive,” said Peta.
“I have had the privilege of travelling the world and have seen firsthand the positive impact microfinance loans can have on the lives of their recipients, their families and their communities.
“I have visited both India and Indonesia and was exposed to the religion, culture and communities through local connections and friends. They are cultures rich in history, and economies often with great disparity but huge opportunity to expand the impact that women can create with support through structures like microfinance.”

In January 2020, Peta realised her own dream of starting a business, The Karuna Collective, based in Brisbane, with the mission of creating a positive impact in the lives of its partners, their people and communities.
Since then, The Karuna Collective has helped businesses and in particular women, realise their potential and improve workplace culture.
In 2024, they launched the AmplifiHER program, an online leadership course, donating 100 per cent of profits to Opportunity.
“I had the exciting opportunity to join the inaugural AmplifiHER program earlier this year,” said Dee Lewis, State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania, Opportunity International Australia.
“Peta Taylor led the participants through four powerful, thought-provoking and personally enlightening sessions that really helped me tease out my inner leader. As a staff member of Opportunity, it was also humbling that Peta and her team were helping to eradicate poverty for women in India and Indonesia by contributing one microfinance loan for every registration to AmplifiHER.”
RedZed, one of our corporate partners, provide small loans to the self-employed in Australia.
Opportunity’s corporate partner RedZed provided the opportunity for four women in their staff to participate in AmplifiHER earlier this year and were singing its praises. RedZed are now offering the course to three times as many staff to participate this time.
“The feedback we’ve received from staff about the pilot program has been overwhelmingly positive. I already have a waitlist for the next one! RedZed empowers women in business with flexible loan solutions, and we’re proud to also empower the women within our business with opportunities like AmplifiHER. We want as many staff members as possible to experience the program firsthand,” says Nicole Mcinerney, Head of Learning and Organisational Development at RedZed.
“I would unreservedly recommend being part of the next AmplifiHER program,” added Dee Lewis. “Not only will your life be impacted for good, but you can also create impact for good for a women living in poverty by lifting her, her family and her whole community out of poverty forever.”
We are so excited to partner with The Karuna Collective and look forward to a great future together, investing in women locally and globally.
