YOUR IMPACT: MEASURING WHAT REALLY MATTERS
your impact: microfinance

In 2025, Opportunity’s microfinance program reached 6.6 million families with small loans across India and Indonesia – a practical and sustainable solution for them to build their own financial independence.
Recognising the complex nature of poverty, Opportunity’s work extends beyond small loans, providing other programs and services including savings and loans for education, cultural purposes and housing. This is complemented by community‑based training that strengthens livelihoods, including financial literacy and other skills‑building initiatives.
Last year, Opportunity’s microfinance program invested in strengthening the foundations and core capacity of our local partners, by improving digital tools, strengthening leadership and governance, and training staff.
Your Impact: Health

Opportunity’s Global Health program demonstrated strong, measurable impact by bringing affordable, community-led primary healthcare to people living in poverty, while laying the foundations for significant future scale. The program reached women and families who are typically excluded from health systems, reduced out-of-pocket health costs, and strengthened local ownership through trusted financial inclusion partners.
In 2025, our local partners provided health access and support with:
- 1,143 emergency medical loans provided to low-income families
- 350 health savings accounts opened (predominantly maternity wallets)
- 2,149 people insured with Health Mutuals Insurance
- 36,000+ people reached with primary care, through telehealth and appointments with a doctor.
Your Impact: Education
Through our EduFinance program, Opportunity reached 39,720 families with school fee loans in Asia in 2025. We worked closely with teachers and school owners to test generative AI tools designed to ease some of their everyday challenges, helping build and implement school improvement plans.
The EduFinance program has two main goals:
- Increase access to education by accelerating investments into local, affordable schools serving low-income communities
- Improve the quality of education by equipping school owners with training and resources, and providing professional training to teachers, impacting teaching practices and learning outcomes.
Your Impact: Agriculture

Through our AgFinance program, Opportunity partnered with thousands of farmers wanting to grow more, earn more, and build resilient households in 2025. When farmers thrive, communities thrive: stable livelihoods, education, community resilience, optimism. A handful of seeds planted in the earth will feed a family, fund an education, and sustain hope for a better future.
Globally in 2025, Opportunity International:
- partnered with 28 financial service partners
- released $212.6 million in loan capital, more than doubling last year’s value
- disbursed 310,185 agriculture finance loans; group loans comprise 90% of the total disbursed loans; 63% of clients are women
- reached 585,640 farmers.
Small loans driving impact

An independent study has shown for the third year in a row, that small loans received by women living in poverty in Asia are a practical and sustainable solution for financial independence.
The Microfinance Index, conducted by 60 Decibels, surveyed 24,000 microfinance clients from 85 microfinance institutions (MFIs) in 39 countries. This included 1,300 loan clients from five of Opportunity’s local partners in India and Indonesia in 2025.
Key results included:
-
8 out of 10 of Opportunity’s clients reported increased income and being better able to manage their finances
-
3 out of 4 people have increased their savings
-
56 per cent of clients are eating more or better-quality meals
-
91 per cent of clients reported improved quality of life
-
7 out of 10 clients reported that the amount of time spent worrying about their finances had decreased
-
8 out of 10 clients reported increased confidence subsequent to taking out a loan.
MEET ADRIANA
Adriana is part of the Resilient Villages program, which strengthens local leadership, livelihoods, and community systems in rural Indonesia. She is married to Osias and they have two children, four-year-old daughter Asri and baby son Fernando.
Adriana was pregnant with Fernando at age 41 and was considered a high-risk pregnancy. Before her community joined Resilient Villages, they could not access nutritious food easily and at a check-up with her doctor, Adriana was recognised as being malnourished.
As part of the program, along with planting healthy vegetables on their farm, Adriana was given four egg-laying chickens, providing much-needed protein for her and the family.
The community attended nutrition training as well, to learn about what foods are important to nourish and fuel their bodies, and the importance of a healthy balance of vegetables, protein and rice.
