4,879,542 families in India and 1,259,507 families in Indonesia are currently accessing small loans and financial services that are vital for their – and their communities’ – economic recovery from the impact of COVID-19.
Our partners delivered access to vaccinations, safe isolation, primary health care, mental health care, remote care and education during the pandemic, making a significant difference to millions of lives.
Opportunity’s education finance institutions currently have 116,817 active education loans to parents and schools in India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan and the Philippines. These are helping children’s post-pandemic return to school, reducing their risk of child labour and child marriage.
Vulnerable girls and women have been at greater risk of abuse and trafficking throughout the pandemic. Fifty Operation PeaceMaker counsellors have helped reduce domestic violence for 10,992 beneficiaries and Operation Red Alert delivered 512 Safe Village Programs to 32,044 beneficiaries.
